GATHERINGS
Our small gatherings are special events...
a day to explore and create with flowers, or spend part or all of the day immersed in painting.

a time to plant ...

Our gatherings will include a time to paint if you wish. George will demonstrate in watercolour or gouache,
and will be there to gently encourage and help you along,
while Gill can guide you through the boldness of working in acrylics,
or help you work with flowers (in a bowl, if needed), or as a flat lay for you to paint.

a time to heal ...

We will take time to gather round the table for a light lunch - all prepared and cooked from locally-sourced produce.
Tea and cake throughout the day to give a little boost of energy
... and because you cannot have a day out without cake (home-baked, of course!)
A time to stop and enjoy one another's company.

a time to laugh ...

The day is suited to someone beginning with flowers and/or paint, or more seasoned and looking to practise further. - individually set to focus on your hopes for the day. A time to be together and get lost in foraging, flowers and paint.

a time to love ...

Our gatherings are something we are deeply excited and passionate about. The coming together in small gatherings sharing the experiences with a desire to create; exploring and learning together. A time to nourish the creative soul..
One of the things we have enjoyed most from previous gatherings is the encouragement each one shared with others. Often we see people quickly grow in confidence and enthusiasm; it is an absolute delight.
We hope we can welcome you to our table with a feast of flowers, paint, good food and shared times of joy.

a time to gain ...

 You will have an opportunity to enjoy our current exhibition of work and ask questions
about approach, technique, inspiration; anything that comes to mind.
We are happy to share all that we know, and find that our guests are much encouraged by it.

a place ...

We will gather at Dove Cottage in Kilmartin, Argyll.
The flow of our time together will be influenced by the seasonal weather and creative discoveries along our way.
Argyll is full of golden light and poetic atmosphere. It can also be wild and windy, bringing its own drama.
Whichever is the case, we will ensure a warm welcome and a time of richness together.

Our gatherings of small groups or one-to-one day classes are from 10:00hrs to 16:30hrs
a day immersed in paint or flowers with individual tuition.
Please use the contact form below
​to discuss what you would most like to get from your day.

These day classes are suited to beginners or more experienced alike.

accommodation ...

We cannot provide accommodation, but there are a number of excellent hotels / guesthouses / bed & breakfast / self-catering establishments in the area, and you may wish to extend your stay to explore this beautiful area; rich in wildlife and glorious scenery - wild and dramatic, or gentle and idyllic by turns. There are a number of providers who can be readily found online.
We can suggest a few contacts should you be experiencing difficulty with this.

Otters, pine martens, sea eagles, deer, not to mention beavers, all inhabit these parts.
Beavers were first reintroduced to Scotland at Loch Coille-Bharr, approximately 5 miles from Kilmartin.
